While most silver and gold jewellery is suitable for everyday wear, there are some tasks you should avoid. It is recommended not to be wearing jewellery doing any of the following tasks, or other similar that are not listed:

• Bathing, showering, swimming - soap and chemicals react to the metal surfaces, potentially leaving them dull and discoloured.
• Heavy and vigorous activity like exercising, gardening, washing the dishes.
• Whilst using and kind of chemicals and cleaning agents or cosmetics.

It is best practice to get into the habit or taking off your jewellery when you get home or before you go to sleep.

Cleaning your gold and silver treasures is simple—use a soft toothbrush and mild soapy water to remove grime, avoiding abrasive cleaners or silverwear creams and foams.

Surface finishes of jewellery will change over time.

• For oxidised silver pieces, be gentle as abrasives can remove the oxidised surface. Over time, oxidation may naturally wear off but can be reapplied by professionals.
• Matte finishes may actually brighten up with continuous wear whilst a bright finish will dull with scratches.

Finishes can be restored by Denise or some other manufacturing jewellers.

Sterling silver naturally darkens over time but can be brightened with a silver jewellery cleaning cloth or professionally polished.
